The answer behind 40

On this #TrashItThursday I need you all to put your ideals under lock and key and just open your minds for five minutes. I have seen the following post almost every single day for the past two weeks and I feel as though it is trying to catch my attention and by golly it finally has. It is not meant to preach nor is it meant to change your belief systems but it is meant to open your minds. You may not be a believer but by the end of this blog post, you will at least questions your very being. Please open your minds and just read this very interesting post that I have found:

The Bible has a lot to say about 40.
💡First, keep this in mind, the official lockdown started March 23 and will likely end May 1st. That is EXACTLY 40 days.
💡The Latin root of the word "quarantine" is "forty".
💡The flood according to Genesis 7:17 lasted 40 days

💡40 years Moses spent wandering after he fled Egypt according to the Book of Exodus

💡40 days Moses stayed on Mount Sinai to receive the Ten Commandments.

💡Exodus lasted 40 years.

💡Jesus fasted for 40 days.

💡40 days for a woman to rest after giving birth.

💡Optimum number of weeks for human gestation is 40.

💡A group of theologians thinks the number 40 represents "change”. It is the time of preparing a person, or people, to make a fundamental change. Something will happen after these 40 days. Just believe and pray. Remember, whenever the number 40 appears in the Bible, there is a "change". Please know that during this "quarantine" rivers are cleaning up, vegetation is growing, the air is becoming cleaner because of less pollution, there is less theft and murder, healing is happening, and most importantly, people are turning to Christ. The Earth is at rest for the first time in many years and hearts are truly transforming. Remember we are in the year 2020, and 20 + 20 = 40. Also, 2020 is the year of the United States Census. Jesus Christ, the savior of the world, was born during a census. Lastly, 2020 is perfect vision. May our sight focus on the Lord and living according to His perfect vision for us knowing He holds us in the palm of His hand. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I hope the above post made you think. I recently saw on the news how in certain countries, many of the people have never seen blue skies and since the quarantine, the air is clear and the skies are blue for the first time in years. There is also less theft and less murders. More importantly, families are together once again and actually talking to one another. People are less stressed in that there is no need to keep up with the Jones’ and there is no need to rush anywhere.

If not for anything else, you have to admit that if we set aside the nightmare of this Coronavirus, these past few weeks have rebooted us as a human race. It has given us a perfect vision to see exactly what we love and exactly what we dislike and need to rid from our lives. We have been afforded a clarity that may never come to us in our lifetimes again. I hope we can all move forward with that clarity and readjust exactly what we now know needs adjusting in our lives. I am pretty sure that if we head this “intervention” that we have been thrown into, our lives will become brighter, better and more fulfilled.

Another thing that enlightens and awakens the mind is reading. My Loris Loop book pick for this blog post is called The Book Of Joy. If you cannot borrow a copy from your local library, here is a link to get your own copy from Amazon >>> https://amzn.to/2sJZjDx

Can You Feel The Distance

Today is #TalkingTuesday and there is only one thing that I have had on my mind all day that I want to talk about and that is all this social distancing and the effect it is having.

It is obvious that social distancing is imperative at this point in all our lives but that does not mean that we will not suffer the effects. It is natural for humans to want the intimacy that togetherness brings so, forcing ourselves to not touch, not hold hands, not hug and just generally stay apart from one another can begin to actually cause us to break down internally. I am literally feeling these effects and because I know that there are thousands if not millions of people feeling the same way, I have decided to dedicate this blog post to all who feel the need to have some sort of togetherness through understanding and a sense of camaraderie.

Today I just felt out of sorts. I felt as though something was missing but I kept busy however, throughout the day I just had an uncomfortable feeling. I finally realized what it was when I went to hug my son. I have a special needs son. He is amazing and funny and playful and smart but he has sensory issues and he does not like to be touched for any prolonged period of time. I hugged him and he hugged me back but as he usually does, he pulled away and that is when I realized what my problem was. I am in desperate need of affection that comes from a loving embrace. I am separated from my husband so that is not an option and during this quarantine, I have seen my mom on a few occasions but was only able to throw her air kisses which gave me a painful pit in my stomach. To me it is not normal not to kiss and hug your mom when first seeing her and when saying goodbye or any family member each and every time. That is just not how I was brought up. I talk to my sisters but there is no contact and I have friends that are near and dear but there is not any real contact there either.

I really started feeling emotional today when I thought about my niece Gianna. She is such a mush and so loving. Every single time I walk into her house, she comes flying down the stairs and throws herself at me. She sits on my lap and is so in your face with her hugs that she usually gets yelled at to let me breathe. You probably think I am talking about a little girl but I am not. She is sixteen and a total mush with me. I return her love every single time but today I thought about all the times that I asked her to please go sit someplace else after she smothered me for what I felt was an acceptable amount of time. It almost made me cry realizing how much I am desperately missing the love that comes through her hugs and how sad I am currently feeling not being able to have that special hug that just seems to put together all your broken pieces and I wondered if that is how she feels on a continuing basis.

I am well aware that this too shall pass but just because it is going to pass does not mean that each day that we sit hoping and praying that this virus does not take another life and that hopefully each day brings greater hopes that fewer and fewer people are getting sick, the emotional toll of needing human contact is still destroying those of us who wait.

So this blog post is to let you all know that while we wait for our new normal to fully begin, please become acutely aware of those tiny little things that you took for granted that mean the world to you right now like that prolonged hug, or that tender kiss, that snuggle under a blanket, a whisper in your ear or, for me, my family bunched together on the couch all laughing and enjoying each other for hours while the kids climb all over us and entertain us while eating food or snacks from shared bowls. What we are doing right now is necessary but it is not human and it is very important that you all realize that it is okay to not be okay while we wait.

While we wait, keep busy. Do whatever it takes to occupy your time and make sure you continue forward on your journey toward your dreams. Reading is one of the best ways to occupy your mind and it helps you to distance yourself from reality at times. I have chosen a book for you today called Living Gratitude. It is very fitting for today’s blog post. If you cannot borrow a copy from your local library, here is a link to get your own copy from Amazon >>> https://amzn.to/38xquS6

Stop and think

Hi and I hope you all read this #MammothMonday blog post to the end and I really hope you share this one with your friends because it is packed with extremely important advice. I found some of this information online and I tweaked it for my readers.

I am going to start this blog post by saying, STOP AND THINK BEFORE YOU SPEND YOUR STIMULUS CHECK. First, to all you renters out there, the government has basically said you do not have to pay your rent and that there is a ban on evictions. My advice to you is that you better do whatever you can to pay your rent. There will soon be major repercussions when eviction bans are lifted. Do not think for one minute that you will get a free ride out of this because the odds are not in your favor. PAY YOUR RENT! Your landlord has bills to pay too and eventually they are going to be allowed to collect.

This next piece of advice is to all you homeowners. The government has told the banks to stop mortgage payment collections, My advice, DO WHATEVER YOU CAN DO TO PAY YOUR MORTGAGE OR AT LEAST PUT THOSE PAYMENTS IN A SEPARATE SAVINGS ACCOUNT!. Some lenders are saying that you do not have to pay your mortgage for 3 months, but on the 4th month, all four payments are due in full. Most people do not understand this. Some banks like Wells Fargo for instance are telling its customers that they are working out programs so they want you to call back before the 90 day period is over to see if there is a development that will put those deferred payments at the back end of your loan. Do not take a chance and spend those mortgage payments before you have signed paperwork from the bank stating that they indeed have deferred those payments to the back end of your loan. Right now, those payments are only deferred for 90 days….PERIOD! Major foreclosures will come from all of this, do not put yourself in a situation where you are one of them.

Third, if the utility company suspends your payments, try your best to pay any amount you can against your account! They are like banks in that they will want their money eventually and when all this Coronavirus nightmare clears up, you will owe an exuberant bill and may possibly lose your utilities. Pay whatever you can this way when the time finally comes that your account is due in full, your situation will be manageable.

My forth piece of advice is to please keep in mind that the government stimulus check is not a random gift, this check is to help you pay your bills while you are temporarily unemployed or financially burdened during this period of quarantine. That means you have been given assistance to help you pay your rent, your mortgage, your utilities, your insurance, your car payment or any bill that may come due. This stimulus check is not for frivolous spending.

Finally, the real and sad problem is that many of you who receive this stimulus check.will not pay their bills and unfortunately will then be crying and wailing saying, “They evicted me. They cut off my power, they repossessed my car...” All this will be happening while you are broke and carrying that empty purse you bought with your stimulus check. Right!! The government may be handing out money but it is not a free for all people think wisely and PAY YOUR BILLS!!!!

While you are in quarantine, keep your mind sharp by reading. I have a recommendation today and it is called Crushing It. It is a perfect read to compliment this blog post because it will teach you to take what you have and use it to build your dream. The time is now

What a #WisdomWednesday it has been. I am exhausted and I have been mentally debating with myself whether or not to skip my blog post for today. I have since decided to write something just to show you that I too get tired and I too have full days and sometimes I feel like I just cannot do one more single thing but then it struck me that I have followers who look forward to reading my post. Do not get we wrong, they are not following me because I am some tax or business guru, they follow me because they feel comfortable with me, they relate to me and they find comfort in my words so, for them especially, I am mustering up the strength to stop the tax returns and write this blog and for all new people reading, I hope you too can relate to my blog and I hope you come back often and enjoy this little community.

I want to share what I experienced today. I have answered so many telephone calls and text messages today regarding the stimulus payments that millions of people received today however, many woke up to find that they had not received anything yet. I walked people through registering their bank accounts on the IRS website as well as filing zero tax returns and trying to help so many navigate this crazy situation that we are all in. Unfortunately, these stimulus payments are still an ever moving and evolving monster and those creating all these stimulus payments and stimulus loans are also not sure why money is so slow to go out so imagine my frustration when I cannot give answers that bring comfort. Thankfully I was able to help most people but the sad part is that for me, not being able to help just one person felt like a failure to me.

If not for anything else, this coronavirus has brought to light one very important and extremely scary reality and that is that the majority of the population is just one or two paychecks away from being in dire straights. That is a sad reality. Even though there are people who work like dogs to make ends meet and really try in spite of constantly coming up short, there are a much greater portion of people who work like dogs but they are struggling to pay for a lifestyle that they cannot afford. They are paying for a lifestyle that they do not even have the time to enjoy. They are trying to keep up with the “Jones” and the “Jones” do not even care about them. The saddest thing is that the people who are trying so hard to buy and have everything are the people who are the most disgusted with themselves. These people seem to be lacking self-esteem and who are looking for validation. These people are the ones whom we have to watch carefully because when and if they fall, they may fall so far that there is no return.

Here are a few facts. Stop worrying about what other people think of you. Are they paying your bills every month? Are they feeding you and your family? If you fail, will they write you checks and share their paychecks with you until you get back on your feet? Ask yourself these questions and it will be easier for you to tend to yourself and not worry about insignificant people. Do you enjoy a smaller home rather than a large home? Get the smaller home. Be happy with what you want and stop worrying about whether or not everyone else will like it. Stop buying things to impress everyone around you and just worry about being happy and impressing yourself. Do you like your friends Chevy but instead you purchased a Mercedes? Why? You know you like the Chevy but you are trying to maintain a persona to impress people who are not going to help you make that huge monthly payment for the Mercedes. If you like the Mercedes then buy it but if you would have preferred the Chevy but it was not as fancy, get the Chevy because it is what you wanted. You are the one who is working. You are the one who is paying all your bills. You are the one sacrificing trying to save money so stop living your life to impress people around you. You want to stop spending everything you earn and you want to be able to stop risking becoming homeless? Simple, go spend some of that money on a therapist to find out why you are so insecure. There is nothing embarrassing about needing help in order to help yourself thrive in life. Many people never find out why they are miserable and they keep living destructive lives. Go speak to someone and learn to start living life on your terms and in a way that is enjoyable to you.

Once you begin to become acutely aware of why you live above your means and why you are so unhappy with your life, you can then begin on your path to financial freedom. You can start on your journey to build the life that you have always dreamed of and reading my blogs will help you get lots of information to help you along that path but you are the only one who can take those first steps. That being said, if you were more aware of what you were doing, you would not be like so many people today who are desperately looking for their stimulus check. Keep in mind, the stimulus check is not for tens of thousands of dollars and most people will be lucky if the stimulus payment takes them through the month so what happens when it runs out? You need to start planning now. What are you good at? Figure out right now what it is that you enjoy doing and figure out how to make money doing that. Now more than ever, it is time for you to take control of your life.

If you need help gathering information for building a nice money stream and turning it into a viable business, read through my many previous blog posts. Also, here is a book that I am recommending that can also assist you. It is called Business Startup Essentials. Do Not Disturb

Hi and thank you for coming back. Happy #TalkingTuesday. After losing power and internet yesterday, today was a marathon work day for me trying to make up for the lag. I never had time today to decide on a blog topic but I still wanted to check in because there are about ten minutes left of this day for me to post.

I just want to say that I am thinking of everyone and I am hoping and praying that everyone is staying healthy and safe and for all who have been stricken with this horrible virus, I send my prayers. All I can say is, keep busy, stay focused and enjoy the precious family time you have been afforded. We often complain that we never get enough time with our family because we are racing through life, well here we are, we have been given all this precious time so please do not let it pass you by wondering when you will be able to leave your home again. Breathe and enjoy it for now because before you can blink steady, life as we know it will be up and running again. This too shall pass.

Sorry, but I have no reading choice picked out for todays Lori’s Loop reading group however, please read something and keep learning and expanding your mind.

Until I post again, be well, be safe, be progressive in following and growing your dreams.

Slow down but don’t stop

Happy #MammothMonday. Today is one of those days. Between being quarantined from this pandemic and the monsoon like weather that came through town knocking my power out four times, my frustration level was at an all time high today. I cannot even begin to describe my frustration of trying to prepare income tax returns and without notice, the power goes out, knocking the computer off and deleting any unsaved work I was in the process of inputting and it did this all x 4. I finally lost internet on the fourth outage and that was my final straw so I threw my hands up and said to myself, that is it. I grabbed my phone and sat on the couch sulking in frustration.

Just then, my son came downstairs, almost as if he sensed I needed an attitude intervention and he began to ask me if he could watch television with me. Well, I took a deep breath and we proceeded to get drinks and chips and he began to tell me how much he hated the Coronavirus and quarantine and that he really missed school (this was about the 5th or 6th time he told me this today 😊). He lasted with me about half hour then he disappeared upstairs. It was a great little break.

That little pause made me realize that I cannot let things stop me. We all must keep moving forward. It is perfectly acceptable to slow down, be in the moment and access your situation. I did just that. After I threw my internal tantrum, I regrouped and rather than ending the day so early, I was still able to get five tax returns finished before my computer went down, I spent quality time with my son then I got my laptop, threw my feet up on the couch and worked on other stuff while watching television and watching the torrential rain through the window. The day turned out better than it would have had I not lost power. Remember, when it rains, there is always a rainbow 🌈 , you just have to open your eyes.

The moral of the story, keep moving. Never stop because your plans are not going as you wanted. Sometimes we all need to slow down. It allows us to process things and regroup. Slow down as often as you need just never stop.

I have a book recommendation for my Lori’s Loop reading group today called Automate Your Business Guarantee Your Results. It is a perfect pick for today because when you are unable to work or when you just need a break from work, having your business on autopilot will keep your business up and running even when you are unable to do it yourself.
