Today’s blog post is about throwing away your preconceived notion that relaxing and doing nothing for a while is being lazy. On this #TrashItThursday I want to fill you in on the importance of escaping from the constant grind in order to re-energize.
This is not a difficult blog post to write about or to even understand however, the hard thing is taking the action of inaction. In other words, you must consciously take a break and pull away so that you can regroup and re-energize your mind, body and soul. There is no way to be productive if you have been running marathons in your life whether it was taking the kids to their daily events while doing the shopping and cleaning the house then cooking. Or, whether you are building and growing your business by micro managing every task then collapsing at night. Regardless of what you do, burnout is inevitable.
There is no formula on how often you should take a break. The answer to that questions is totally at your discretion. If you want to lock yourself in a room three hours a day and binge watch something on Netflix than that is what you have to do. Or, if you need to step outside and just breathe as you make one lap around the parking lot, than that is what you must do.
The point is that nobody can go day after day full speed ahead and expect to be productive in life while remaining mentally and physically able bodied. Take as many breaks as you need and relax. Just be lazy. Shut your mind to everything. Take a nap, take a walk, binge watch something, work on a hobby, listen to music or just sit in peace and quiet. Do whatever it is that you need to do and as often as you need to do it in order to progress in life. When you actually implement this into your life, you will see that you are able to get even more done as a relaxed person than you would have been able to accomplished as a burn out.
One of the great ways to release yourself from excessive tasks that make it increasingly more necessary to take breaks is to try and automate as much as your business as possible. This should be a constant goal and you should try to automate as many aspects of your business as you can. A great book to read on this subject is called Automate Your Business Guarantee Your Results.
