I have a quick topic for today on this #MammothMonday and that topic for this blog post has to do with your forward momentum.
Today is about doing something big and how much bigger can you get when you are feeling stuck and you metaphorically lift your two ton foot and just keep moving forward regardless of the obstacles constantly appearing in your path trying to hold you back? You have to force yourself to have tunnel vision and you have to keep traveling toward your journeys end.
It is a huge character and spiritual builder each and every time you are able to hurdle one of those obstacles however, it is even more important that you remember that if you trip over the hurdle or knock it down or even if you fall completely on your face trying to get over it, that is all perfectly normal and usually part of the process. Do not get discouraged. It is not about getting over the hurdle perfectly, it is about getting past that hurdle in any way possible. Remember, forward momentum always. Make that progress and reach your goals.
I have a quick story and it is a true story too. There is this woman who is married, in name only (that part of the story is for another day), for almost three decades and her marriage is a hopeless mess. It has brought her so much sadness for that which no longer exists and for the dreams that never came to pass. What happened was that every time she was ready to get her life on track and start a fresh life filled with love and happiness, he would place hurdles around her and he would wear her down. It was only until one day when he, the husband placed that proverbial final straw on her back that she realized that she allowed herself to lose focus of her dreams because every time a hurdle hit, she kept mourning what she never had and therefore she stayed hoping that something would change and that she would not give up after so many years. Thankfully, that last straw brought her clarity and she is now looking with tunnel vision toward her dream while jumping enormous hurdles. There are many metaphorical stab wounds and bruises as well as massive slices through her heart but she finally has realized that although she set her life up with him and although she had already devoted three decades to trying to build this relationship, she has also realized that sometimes you have to walk away from everything you thought you wanted in order to find your dream.
So the takeaway from today’s blog post is that when you really want to live your best life and achieve your dream, sometimes you have to let go of what is comfortable and what appears to be secure as well as possibly letting go of something that you once loved. Keep in mind that I am not talking about letting go of something you love just to get something better. I am talking about letting go of something you loved because it does not share in your dreams anymore, it does not respect what you do anymore, it sabotages you knowingly and sadly unknowingly and it does not have your best interest anymore. You can still love but you must take that painful step, love from afar and just keep moving forward before you lose the ability to move at all.
One way to help you with your forward momentum is to delegate work so that you can stay focused and an easy way to do that is by automating your business as much as you can.
