Self-worth

On this #FundMeFriday I want to touch on a topic that has made its way along my path twice this week and that topic is self-worth. It is so sad to see people unable to grow and prosper because their self-worth is demolished by society rather than being nourished by loving and believing in themselves. So, before I touch upon this topic I just want to remind everyone that it is #FundMeFriday and hopefully you have all paid yourselves today. 💰😃💰

Now, I am obviously not a therapist in any way, shape or form but I am a person who does possess observational abilities and therefore I want to point out two ideas that I believe can, at least as a beginning step, help someone who may need to hear this.

First of all, the road to self-worth must involve you learning to stop comparing yourself to others. Nowadays so many people believe that if they are not doing what others are doing or if they do not own what others own, they believe they are failures which is like a jack hammer to your self-worth. Social media has made this problem more prominent in that everyone puts posts out into the world trying to depict how perfect they and their lives are when in fact their own lives may be total disasters and the posts are methodically coordinated to hide all their imperfections thereby actually creating a fantasy and or a mirage of sorts. It is the equivalent of looking in magazines and believing that all the models are perfect compared to you without taking into consideration that almost all those pictures are lies because they are touched up until they almost reach a level of perfection to portray to society. It is all a rouse that is brainwashing people to think that what they see is all real. Stop comparing yourself to others. The only thing that is real is you, how you feel, how you look, how you love, what you like and how you live. Learn to pay attention to your own life and learn to appreciate all you have and I can almost guarantee that type of attitude will propel your growth forward.

The second topic I want to discuss that should help you on your road toward self-worth is to add meaning to your life. You are probably wondering how you do this and I am going to tell you that one of many ways to do this is to participate in activities that you love. When you do things that you love to do, it automatically brings joy to your life and when you are filled with joy, it will directly increase your self-worth. Make it a point to do as many things as you can that you love and do them not because you have to but do them because you need to do them for you and your self-worth. Always remember that you have to take care of you first otherwise you will not be able to take care or help anyone else.

I know that I am speaking in very simplistic ways but if you are one of the many people who needs to make this adjustment in your life, you will understand what I am trying to help you incorporate into your life and you will hopefully make whatever adjustments you may need to make toward your mental and emotional strength and well being.

I have a great read for you that will serve as a perfect tool to help you start shifting your mindset into strengthening your self-worth and it is called Living Gratitude. It is a book I have recommended in the past and I think you need to read it again. If you did not read it the first time that I recommended it, I suggest you go borrow a copy from your local library or from a friend. If neither option is available, here is a link to get your own copy from Amazon >> https://amzn.to/38xquS6

If you choose to shop in Amazon, I would greatly appreciate it if you could use the link I have provided. As an Amazon Affiliate, it is possible I can earn a bonus and therefore continue to provide continued content we all enjoy. Thank you in advance!
